The Cult Of Piett

Brandy (Star Wars Style)
Written & submitted by Tom Munkres

There's a port, out the Mid-Rim way
and it serves a hundred ships a day
spacers pass the time away
and talk about their homes.

There's a girl, in that spaceport town
and she works, laying whiskey down
they say "Brandy, fetch another round"
She serves them whiskey and wine

The spacers say "Brandy,
You're a fine girl, what a good life would be ours
your eyes could steal a spacer from the stars."

Brandy wears gold arm band,
of the finest crafting from the heart of Hapan
A gift, from an Imperial man
the Admiral Brandy loves.

He came on a busy day
Blasting Rebels, who'd gone astray
but he made it clear he could not stay
The Executor was his home.

Adm'ral Piett said Brandy "You're a fine girl,
what a good wife you would be
but commanding the Executor is my duty."

Oh Brandy used to watch his eyes when he told her starship stories
She could feel the Destroyer's power rise, she felt it's Imperial glory.
but Piett had always told the truth, you know he was an honest man
And Brandy does her best to understand

At night, when the work is short
Brandy walks through a silent port
and loves Piett, cause she's the sort
that still can hear him say.....

Adm'ral Piett said "Brandy You're a fine girl,
what a good wife you would be
but commanding the Executor is my duty."
